Yousician - Your personal music teacher Reviews

  • Not very good :(

    By RandomZZZZZZZZZZ😂
It started off very good with the videos and everything that helps you to learn and it is very easy to use as well. However once you get to the end of your free trial it is £99! No way would I spend that much on an app! Also it is very annoying only having one lesson a day because then I may as well just use YouTube. When I was playing a song, I would strum or pick the right string and I would get it right but it would mark it as wrong! Please sort this out and I will consider changing the rating!

teaches me so well as i couldn't do it before, gradually teaches and challenges you as well, the practise mode is such a good idea too, thank you!!

  • It's a scam!!

    By Rikuesque
It's free at first but they'll make you pay 99£ afterwards!!!! Don't download it... it's much better learning some songs on YouTube
  • Guitar and bass notation?

    By Jayman908
Been practicing on piano and have loved it, I am a guitarist that has never been able to sight read and by using the classical path in piano has encouraged me. I am hoping that this app may have notation for bass and guitar. As I would like to read all clefs etc :)
  • Good for the most basic, but you very quickly outgrow it

    By gandalf3
Yousician starts off well, but by the end of the free trial I was frustrated by it. Worth a look, but not worth subscribing. The songs it picks are bizarre: I was on the classical course for piano, and learnt about 75% folk songs. It placed me at level 5, so I presumed it would have already covered a degree of harmony and two-handed playing, yet by the end of the trial I was still playing melody over single bass notes, and had not progressed in skill at all, despite playing with the app for a good 30 mins to 1 hour a day. The audio input is dodgy, and will often only pick up a single note you play in a chord, meaning you get marked incorrectly. The colour system is fine, but a bit basic. The lessons are structured poorly, making you repeat tasks that you've already mastered four or five times. Finally the fact that you cannot zoom out and look at the whole score but have to play it as it passes on the screen is awful. If there's a tricky part you want to practice, there is no way for you to analyse it and practice just those few bars at leisure, you have to follow the pace of the app. This is infuriating, you can never get a good feel of the whole piece and the only way to get to know the music is to play it from sight straight away, a terrible idea. Overall this would be fine for an absolute beginner, but really it won't last you very long at all. You'd be far better served buying a Faber or Albert book and having a few lessons for the money instead.

    It's well gid
  • It failed

    By Jl1505
The app graded me 'good' on most of my chords even when I went to open a letter. The app did not pick up that I wasn't playing, giving me good scores when it was listening to silence. It doesn't give much confidence and £99 a year is greedy. Just do a monthly subscription!

This app made me actually want to practice 10/10 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

It is cost £60-£100 just to continue through using it! Better of going to a professional not a stupid app!!!! + they have really crap songs like nursery rhymes!
  • Good so far

    By MickeySwallocks
I've only just started using Yousician and I'm still on the free starter stuff so this review is a bit limited. But so far so good. The learning method is very intuitive and I've moved on from strumming to picking out basic tunes. You can slow things down or go to practice mode until you perfect each section. I'll review again when I try more features.
  • Doesn't even deserve one star!

    By Chloe&George
This is ridisculous, only one lesson a day? I should AT LEAST be able to practice without using my lesson time. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME!! There are ads every time I move on to tell me to go premium WELL IM NOT!!! Im deleting this app.
  • V good app

  • Great

    By 5kam
At first I thought it was a bit rubbish but I'd never played guitar before. After a few hours practicing I could play a tune and I loved it!
  • Great

    By Pritcheyboy
    Really teaches you well
  • Do not download it costs £99 and it's difficult to cancel

    By Darkadrenaline
This app gives you 39 days free, after that £99 is taken from your account. I'm still trying to figure out how to cancel. The mail says to reply if any questions - the email I sent was rejected as the address didn't get recognition !! It's ridiculous, I'm panicking as I can't afford £99 to come off my account! Don't download this at all. There are other apps that are free or don't cost too much, just a couple of pounds. This is a scam!!
