Yousician Reviews

i started playing the guitar and then got bored, coz nothing could teach me, in the adverts on youtube, there it was, my true guitar lessons FOR FREE!!! So grabbed my guitar and started learning and playing and OMG, after two day of it now..I can play nearly 5 songs!!!!!!SO HAPPY, THANKYOU YOUSICIAN!!! also, if you are wondering that you’ll have to pay....don’t worry! you get one free lesson a day, and that’s enough. it goes on for about half an hour, you only pay, if you want to get unlimited lessons!!!!!!THANKS FOR READING,,, HOPE IS HELPED!!
  • One of the greatest apps of my life

    By vaysinn
Cant recommend this enough, but would better if it actually taught you songs Nevertheless...for free and for what you DO learn...can't go without this
  • Best thing that happened to modern music.

    By Husbcdeisbchuisbchusfdicb
I wish they had software like this for every art type: it's so rewarding, easy, fun. I can't think of anything to fault. The option of uploading your own music is genius....the amount of hours I previously would spend trying to figure chords out was insane. Now this exists! Thoroughly loving the app, amazed!
  • Amazing!!

    By Dagamingllama
This might sound a bit cheesy but I've only been using the free app for 3 days today on the free 30 minutes per day and the way that it limits my daily time encourages me to practice so as not to waste a minute! It has allowed me, someone who's never played anything but the odd recorder piece to start learning the electric guitar at such a steep curve without difficulty! Planning on going premium when it gets to the holidays :)
  • Amazing But Repetetive

  • Amazing!

Offers a tuner, which is extremely helpful. The lessons come in video and practical forms, both being very helpful and well paced. I have done very well, and as long as your instrument is functioning correctly (tuned and all that) it will hear and recognise every note. Love it!
  • Useful app

    By Gamer IOS10
A very useful app in terms of learning skills on piano/guitar/bass (I am yet to try ukulele). My only issue is that the app doesn't always pick up that you have played the correct note - even if the next note you play is the exact same one and it comes up correct.
  • Stutters like crazy since update. Still Very poor sound recondition.

AVOID the CON on subscription. It is advertised as monthly, but you are tied into a yearly contract. UK Trading standards anyone. CRAP sound recognition ruins this app such that it is no replacement for a teacher. The app is tone deaf, giving good scores on badly twanged strings but bad scores on good sounding ones. Scores seem overly focused on timing, which is important, except when you prioritise sounding like a straggled cat to get good scores, over better played but late notes/chords which earn you red. A good example of this is the chord 'trainer'. I can easily get a pass by scrapping the strings with four fingernails, whereas strumming a decent sounding chord with reverb, etc gets a bad score more than half the time. When playing in lessons, I have also been given good scores on chords when I have not even used the right finger positions. Yousician - learn to play on time, but out of tune. Perhaps splitting the scores might help, part for timing, part for being in tune and part for no unnecessary sounds, which the app just plain ignores. Sort it out guys. Don't bother registering with Yousician, as this app will keep requiring a sign in and then locks you out. Poor.
  • Fab but,

I have been playing this app with my ukulele for a few months now it has really helped me, but the one problem is that £10 a month for premium no way.
  • Okay

    By BAMItsFloralGorl
Pro’s: It teaches me guitar on my level and there are many other songs that you can learn Con’s: •You need to pay to get more time •I’m playing the right chords on the guitar however the app is marking it as wrong
  • Add

    By Devon_michael
Good but maybe add violin because I'm learning violin
  • Amazing!

    By Iqqaaaayy
I think yousician is the reason I sit on my keyboard everyday and practice and learn, the lessons are so easy to follow with some harder options which challenge you at the end, but I think it is amazing and keeps you going, has a lot of content too. I'd just want to learn moe in the reading sheet music and applying it part of the piano lessons. Overall it's a very good app to get you going!
  • Why didn't I get this earlier

    By Kitkat 333
3rd day into the app and I'm playing songs! So easy to use starting from no guitar knowledge at all.
  • Totally inaccessible for voice-over users

    By littlemisslovely
So, I downloaded this app in hopes that I might find a way to learn ukelele chords. It installed fine, but as soon as I opened it, everything went quiet. Voice-over is not able to read any of the elements on the screen at all so, don't waste your time by downloading it if you use voice-over. Such a shame. The only reason I have given it one star is because otherwise I cannot post this review.

I found this app and was happy 😊 BUT all it does is help tune your guitar 🎸 UNLESS you want to pay £99 per year
  • Love it !!

It's such a good app helps a lot I'm only 12 and I'm already getting good thanks x
  • Brilliant

    By Dncr21
Great app! Considering getting the full version when I have more time to make the most of it! Teachers little by little and makes you feel like you can achieve, even at the early stages! I have been using for just over a week and can already see big improvements, even from a near beginner :) well worth downloading
  • Wonderful and free part is enough

    By H644
We love this app, my 7 & 9 yo sons were given a guitar and quickly discovered Yousician. Signed up for the 3 day free trial with me very scared that I’d be forced to pay money at the end for them to carry on. I got very confused but in fact the free lessons are plenty. Although I would happily pay a one off fee to support the app we don’t need to go premium at the moment. My only quibble is that the boys have discovered they can create songs but I’d be quite happy for that to be premium only or limited - not sure it’s quite so worthwhile. But a great app thank you - even got me (a 41 yo mum) learning! I also love the fact that the only ads are for you - in app ads are the worst for kids pestering!
  • Doesn’t work for free

    By PutinIsGay
Every single day for the last month I try to use the free daily lesson and every single time it just keeps on telling me “Lesson Finished” straight away... the app only works (works okay 3.5/5) if you pay for it. They are extremely greedy and limit you to no use of the app at all if you want F2P
  • Good at teaching but doesn't work

    By Emacneik
I tried accessing my microphone but it won't work so i think it's absolutely useless
