Hours is the time tracker you will actually use. "The Perfect iPhone Time Tracking App" - Forbes "Surprisingly pleasant to use…well-thought-out interface" - TechCrunch “The world’s easiest way of tracking your time.” - 9to5Mac Best New Apps - Apple With a visual timeline, smart reminders, detailed reporting, and an interface crafted by and Apple Design Award winning team, Hours turns a tedious process into — dare we say — an enjoyable one. Time tracking seems like it should be easy…and it would be, if we were all robots. Unfortunately, humans tend to have problems with 1. Forgetting to track your time in the first place 2. Forgetting to note when you change tasks 3. Forgetting to stop a timer after you start one So Hours lets you: • Set smart reminders to nag you at just the right times to start and stop your timers • Start/stop/switch timers with one tap (now even from the home screen with 3D Touch) • Use the visual timeline to easily identify and correct mistakes • Set rounding rules to round time to whatever interval you are used to — 6 minutes, 15 minutes, and more • Quickly see on a calendar view which days you tracked time and which days you forgot • Track your time by clients, projects, and tasks if you need to • Add notes to your time entries • View on-screen reports in the app, or email detailed CSV or PDF reports New in 2.0: • Sync your time with Hours on the web, where you can track time from your desktop and view beautiful reports • Now your whole team can use Hours to track, report, and analyze time Please email us if you have any questions or suggestions to improve the app: -- The Hours Pro subscription, which provides additional reporting options, costs $7.99 per month. The subscription will be charged to your credit card through your iTunes account and will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Though your subscription for the current month cannot be canceled, you can turn auto-renewal off in your account settings after purchase. See instructions here: Privacy Policy: Terms of Service:

Hours Time Tracking Reviews

  • Great

    By English Robert
Track all of my editing hours and switch between projects / clients with one press. Colour coordinate different clients and then see a breakdown of the hours at the end when invoicing. Perfect!!
  • Could be better still...

... if it allowed more customisation of the reports
  • Pretty decent

When my boss asked me to start tracking my time, I was annoyed at time I was going to need to spend managing this new process, but Hours made it quick and easy and the data has been useful for me and my boss
  • Too expensive

Not a very easy app to use.
  • Easy to use, yet powerful

I love the horizontal timeline. At a glance I can see my day and the hours on tasks/activities I have completed. I work as a specialist teacher visiting schools and homes. I have categories for driving, school visit, home visit, training received, training delivered and admin tasks. Using the notes section means that when I am driving I can make a note of my destination and the amount of miles I need to claim for reimbursement. I have the rounding set at 5 minutes which for me is perfect. Having the option for time to be displayed as actual time and minutes rather than a decimal is really useful. The developer was quick to respond to my questions and feedback. I love the app and the simplicity of the reports with the online visualisations are helpful to keep track of my working day and the hours I clock up!
  • Simple to use

  • Not simple to use

Really awkward app that is not really useful to track and edit your timeline
  • What I've been waiting for!

The best design decision is that starting to record time for an activity is just a single tap on the main screen. The new web reporting is good too. However v2.0.x has a number of bugs which now make this unusable. Editing a timer, particularly a long one is just too long-winded and the > and < have very appreciable delay before they fire. There are bugs in the display of time intervals too. So unless you always are on the ball with starting and stopping recording, avoid. This is a real shame as earlier versions didn't have this problem, and I hope it can be corrected quickly.
  • Monthly Fee

This app may just about be worth $8 one time ! But really every month errr NO. Plenty of better apps out there than this
  • iOS app OK but website & reports awful

    By IMHO (Probably)
If you are just looking for an iOS based app to help create time sheets then this will be ok for you. However if you want to use the web interface be prepared for error messages and lack of functionality. Been waiting 5 days for their developer to reset the data in my account to see if the errors go away - obviously this means I have to enter data again and can't use it whilst waiting for the reset. Reporting is biased towards timesheet creation, it is useless for people like myself who want to give time reports to our clients. I've just cancelled my subscription and moved to Paymo
  • Watch app not working

    By crowsongs
I really like this app but can't get it to work on my new Apple Watch. Contacted developer but no detailed response.
  • Unstable and cumbersome to use

    By mbf82
Editing a task duration requires endlessly clicking on the < and > buttons. The watch app doesn't update the tasks and only shows the first test task I created. Crashes all the time.
  • Takes me ages to write a timesheet using this

  • Some very annoying omissions

I've used this app for over 18 months and maybe it's time to see what else there is on the market. The simplicity of clicking a button to start/stop a timer is great but why this can't be available through a widget on the lock screen beats me. I think there was a widget in a previous version before they rewrote it (or do we have to pay for that?) Additionally, if you accidentally leave a timer running, you can only edit the time if it has run past midnight. Otherwise you're forced to click endlessly on the '<' symbol to reduce the time by 5 minutes each click. Painful if you realise after a few hours what you've done. Why can't we just have a simple 'spinner' to adjust the time? It exists in the app for when you've run past midnight. Reporting has improved - I can now see how much time I have spent each day on each project. I just need to go through the projects individually. Better would be to present me with an array showing one project per row and one day per column - then everything could be seen in one go. The reminders don't appear to work very well - it frequently tells me I haven't got a timer running when I have and then after I've finished for the day and stopped the timer it'll tell me I've still got one running. Still, I recognise that ding sound now and know when to ignore it. Overall it works - I've had few crashes - but it could be so much better. Then I'd be prepared to pay for it (but not $7.99 a month).
  • Buggy Notifications

    By UserNo43
The app is send notifications telling me I am not running a timer. I switch back to the app and the timer is in fact running.
  • Needs considerable work - function and usability

    By TragicMayhem
App was great but v2 still needs some considerable improvement- usability and syncing. App looks lovely and could be fab but let down by some frustrating things when using that add up to fiddly experience. I've lost trust in sync ability as app and web do not align. I've had to delete days of recorded hours to reset. Web performance is very poor considering it's just hours recorded and reports. I'll monitor updates and may come back because it was great, but for now I'll step away and look for alternates. Update. Cross device on iOS is different too. Looks good but under hood it's patched together poorly. Found alternate until they sort themselves out.
  • Good but could be better

    By MrHale94
Really good premise and easy to use interface. Just crashes on me and it tells me I'm running a timer when I'm not just could be a really useful tool if I could rely on it 100% I'm at about 75% at the moment. Still right down most of my time sheet as I do it but this is helping just could be cleaner and better.
