You don’t sound like a robot when you speak in your mother tongue (no offence to real robots reading this), so why learn a new language only to talk like one? We want to get you confidently speaking a language like you’ve always wanted, not just memorising a list of vocabulary words or learning sentences you’ll never use. Give us a go – your first lesson is free! LEARNING WITH BABBEL • 14 languages available: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Polish, English, Indonesian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian. Probably best you don’t try them all at once. • Made by humans – expert linguists are behind all of our courses. We keep them warm and well-fed. • Choose courses on topics you care about, and learn what matters to you. • 15 minute lessons (on average) – learn without upsetting your calendar (we know how sensitive it can be). • Progress is synced across all devices, and all content can be downloaded for offline use. So you can learn anytime and anywhere, except in your sleep (we’re still working on that technology). • Review Manager – helps you keep new vocabulary up there once you’ve learnt it. • Easy to use – simple and clear interface. • We’re also available on Apple Watch – another easy way to practice on the go. • Good but a bit slow

Great app to learn a language but the keyboard can be quite annoying and there isn’t a reminder notification system which is also quite disappointing. But overall a good app!

This is just the right sort of thing I was looking for to help me learn German. The variety of listening, writing, speaking and reading tasks really helps to actually learn. The grammar lessons are so helpful and the learn German with song is very good. 4 stars instead of 5 because it won’t let me do the German characters on they keyboard so I get all those ones wrong. I’m only a week into my year subscription but I think this might be the year I finally complete my new year resolution to learn German properly.

Much better alternatives to this amateur language learning app. Idiotic clicking to spell out sentences. Should be concentrating on verbal skills. After literally 5 minutes for a free starter lesson it requests paid subscription. Deleted it directly, waste of precious iPhone storage.

This app is pretty good overall but with some annoying snags. A simple one to fix is when a spelling is deemed incorrect because it does not start with a capital, yet the keyboard does not give the option to use capitals, really.... Another one is the pronouncements of the text, I am English I will never sound like a French person so why do you use annoying accents. Surely somebody who is English but fluent in French will not speak in a French accent? I bought this training app to speak French whilst on holiday not learn how to teach it, way too much focus on verbs, nouns etc. in my view and they cannot be avoided in lessons Last one, I am still in beginner mode so this may become clearer later but surely it would be good if the lessons reinforced previous lessons by adding little bits at a time not jumping all over the place

Love the way you learn. To read, write and pronounce everything you are learning. Also you can’t skip ahead and miss vital info, you have to build on your learning. I’m using it with my German classes at night school. Perfect.

I’ve used this on and off for a while now but only recently as an App. It’s very encouraging and builds gradually but in quite a challenging way too. The review is an excellent function as it tests your residual knowledge. It could perhaps be updated a little to include more idiomatic phrasing, or maybe I’ve just not got that far yet! Overall if you get a deal in the price (worth waiting for!) it’s a great app.
  • Great for language learning!

Used to be a pretty much totally free app however recently its been upgraded and now only the first levels are free, pretty much a useless app now if you’re broke like me😂😂
  • Subscription charges

Be aware that unless you cancel the automatic renewal they will continue to charge you. My own fault only realising this now (on the day it’s due to renew) just before Christmas and with a barren bank account. App is good otherwise, although I had downloaded it to learn European Portuguese to communicate better with a coworker - who commented how strange it was that I had a Brazilian accent! - I didn’t get to use it as much as I hoped in the end, so it was a waste of money for me but I don’t doubt its ability to teach others.

It keeps crashing when I speak!!!!!
  • Voice recognition needs work

I like the lessons and the way it reviews the things you have already learnt, however, I get very frustrated with the voice recognition. After a stupid amount of attempts to try and correctly pronounce a simple sentence in French, I thought I'd see if I have the same result if I pretended to be French learning English (my native tongue which I speak quite clearly and correctly). Well, it wouldn't even acknowledge that I was pronouncing "Hello" correctly! Great app but voice recognition needs work, would be helpful if there were tips on which part of the sentence you were saying wrong and also if it wasn't so picky on what classes as correct and incorrect!
  • Perfecto app

I have a full time job and a 13 month old son making studying a bit of a challenge. This app is great as it fits around my busy lifestyle, letting me pick it up whenever I have the opportunity. If your not convinced, try the free trial and watch the video.

This is a great app and at half price membership, it’s a bargain. It could do with a system to help you when you get stuck as I feel my progress has slowed significantly now I’m struggling with a concept but I have no way to resolve it other than repeating the same lessons which isn’t really helping. Duolingo is a great free basic alternative!
  • This is a perfect language corse for learning on the go.

At home I use my MacBook Pro, on the boat I use my iPad and on the move I use my iPhone. It perfectly transmissions to whichever you are using.
  • Poor voice recognition

    By Euphiiie
The voice recognition is a shame. It doesn't even recognise the same sound track of a different device 🙄 what's the point of me repeating the same sentences over and over and over again for 10 minutes. Customers shouldn't pay for such a poorly designed app
  • I love it but.....

It's very good I would recommend it to people that struggle a bit BUT the thing I don't like about it is that when it says email address Facebook or insta and when u press Email it says after u do your name and email any password u do it does not work at all !!!!!😒😒😒😡😡😡😢
