VoxSci Reviews

  • Very useful!

    By DanRJohnson
A really useful app - Especially as a way to get a voicemail on a landline to follow your mobile service - Can be done. Great UK alternative to Google Voice functionality. Review slightly less than it should be because it is very annoying to be notified of a missed call - but easily 'lose' the record of the number that called you.

Pros: + Easy to Set Up + Transcriptions are Generally Good + Great to be able to Read Voicemails instead of having to Listen to them Cons: - Voicemails are truncated to 60 seconds (not just the transcription) - After 30 Voicemails you're back to only getting 10 second transcriptions - The app doesn't embrace the UI of new iPhones. It's still very iOS6. Big and Clunky. For £4.49 per month I expected a lot more. The UI needs a makeover to utilise the +Plus screens, pricing needs to be adjusted (maybe a PAYG option for per-voicemail or per-second), and truncating voicemails is unforgivable (especially when you get an important call from a withheld number and it truncates the message before you get to the bit where they tell you their number).
  • Nice to have

This app does an amazing job for me. Being able to read and listen to my voice messages especially when there's only wifi connection available is such an ease. The app sends a transcript and a recording of your voice messages directly to your email so you can always promptly act on important messages.
  • Simple, effective app that will help you be more productive :)

I used to hate have to call my voicemail to check messages (which usually meant I would miss calls while I was "speaking" with my voicemail). The VoxSciences app emails me my voicemails now (as well as showing them up within the app) so no more wasting time calling my voicemail to listen to messages. Another bonus is that even if the phone is switched off / dead / somewhere else you will still be able to receive your voicemails in an email. Recommended :)
  • Great App!

This app is very useful indeed. I love the Voicemail to text transcription feature, as the it is often easier to read a text than listen to a message. It works very well and responds quickly. Fully recommended.
  • Wouldn't let me register

    By Tasha_Hedley
When I first heard about this app, I was really excited about this as I have always had to rely on my boyfriend and family to listen to my voicemails or take my calls for me since I'm deaf. Once I downloaded the app and registered, it said that my mobile network wasn't compatible since they're unable to convert the voicemails. I would've expected all mobile networks to work on this app. Really disappointing
  • Unique and effective service

If you live and work somewhere with a bad cell phone connection, as I do, this app is transformational. Used to be that if someone called my mobile and left a message, all that happened is that I didn’t get the call and I didn’t get the message! With VoxSci if someone leaves a message I get an email, pretty well instantly, and I can hear the message in the attachment to the email. It is such a brilliant solution! This app really has changed my life.
  • Fantastic

The app is great, I was referred by a friend and I'm also recommending it to friends. One bug bare though is missed calls, you get a notification when your phone is locked of a missed call and the app shows you have a missed call on the home screen, but when you go into the app there is nowhere to show missed calls
  • Voxsci is good…

    By SimonbLondon
The transcription on VoxSci is amazingly accurate, head and shoulders above the competition. App is slightly frustrating sometimes (it loads every time it opens). Overall, the ability to have messages sent as an email or text is brilliant.
  • Great app

Especially good if travelling abroad as you can hear the voicemail on the MP4 file via email rather than making an expensive phone call to your voicemail A brilliant idea
  • Brilliant

I wouldn't want to be without this, there were some bugs when I started using it a few months ago but they're completely sorted now and customer services were really helpful. It's incredibly useful and well worth it, love it.
  • Faster loading but then keeps crashing

    By Devk1981
As a result cannot check any messages. Nor change settings. In spite of having downloaded app again. I hope this big is fixed quickly otherwise will have to look elsewhere.

This latest update is super quick and stable, love it. 10000 times better than the old one.
  • Bugs

Good idea but full of bugs - please test before launching. Took 2mins to find major bugs... A shame

did not like app, it said "read your voicemail" "Voicemail converted to text" i was under the illusion that when a message was left it was converted to text so you could read it as a text message. it did not say it went to emails then you had to click on a link to hear it or dial a special number. it is easier just to dial 123 from your handset. i don't think it does what it says on the tin!!
  • Awesome!

Life saving app... Well, maybe not life saving but certainly time saving. I used to hate listening to my messages, and sometimes put it off for weeks at a time... which isn't good when I run two businesses. Now I don't have to, they are there in front of me in an email. Absolutely can't fault the app or the service. X
  • Can't get it off my phone

    By IPayMoreBecauseILiveInTheUK
Followed the deactivation procedure and its still intercepting my voicemail and contacts. Hate it! Worst app ever.
  • Great utility

    By Moboe_Twit
This voicemail app is great for just doing what it's meant to do - answer the phone when you don't and let you know who called, when and what the message was. I love the email features that give a précis of the message as well as an MP3 recording. The separate app lets you can access your voicemails but I just tend to use the email and text alerts as the app can be slow and needs an Internet connection whereas the email includes the recording already. Activation and control are not 100% so not 5 ⭐ but I just leave it running all the time anyway. If you use your phone as a phone then this app is probably essential but you just don't know it yet!!!
  • Fantastic App

    By timneedham47
This is a superb idea and it's been done really well. I live in an area of poor reception so people often have to leave voicemails. This app tells me at a glance what they want. Brilliant!
