Runkeeper- GPS Running Tracker Reviews

  • Unreliable

    By Steveadams99
This is unfortunately very unreliable software that will randomly decide to stop recording your run or quit to its main screen. This is even worse when you don’t realise until your run is over - untracked! It’s done it once too often for me to recommend to anyone - and makes any kind of persistent data tracking such as runs per month, distance per month, speed tracking pointless.
  • Brilliant

Used it for 5 years - enough said
  • Distance tracker

    Great app for tracking distance!
  • Good companion but latest update broken

    By Harlekwin
I have kept from 1000 to 10000 recorded activities. It no longer tracks from my Apple Watch reliably. I no longer get spoken feedback reliably. Very broken, alas.
  • Was brilliant now rubbish

Just updated and now I can't review my plans! Sort it out
  • No no no!!! Why change the interface design???!!

    By Unicorn0011
I use this app almost daily, it has been more reliable than any other fitness app I've tried. But why oh why Runkeeper have you changed the interface design on the ME tab in the latest update??? It used to be big and bold - easy to see at a glance my progress against last month, now there’s so much detail and it’s so small and hard to read. You just made the UI a really difficult experience!! And please stop making me choose either Friends or Share once I completed a run, I never want to do either!
  • Great for beginners

    By Bassgirl35
I've used Runkeeper for about a year and it has all the features I need to get fit burn calories and keep track of things also really easy to use !
  • Love it!

    By Sassmunda
I upgraded to the full use of the app and it has really helped me develop my running/cycling. By recording all my info it encourages and motivates me to improve, wouldn't use anything else!
  • Properly designed for Apple Watch

    By Roaroaroa
Used stand alone with Apple Watch 3 and Wahoo Tickr X strap, app is pretty much all you could ask for. An attractive and intuitive interface and even a specific Watch only setting. Have done 3 hour run with several pauses and all was recorded with connection to Tickr X maintained throughout. Shows Wahoo’s own software to be a very poor effort. Unfortunately the main iPhone app neither shows elevation nor feeds Strava. Also I see no heart rate data in Apple activity. This currently leaves only Strava as the most complete Watch solution.
  • What is wrong with RunKeeper this week?

    By robhiller
Please please please spend some time on the Watch app. You seem to have completely forgotten about it and it’s awful!
  • Bug

  • Gotta Run😊

    By Nunkin1965
Really pleased with Runkeeper. Gives me all the info I need. One month in and the App has been great for me. I’d recommend giving it a go.
  • Works well

    By Jaiywqq
Does exactly what it says it will do. Works smoothly and intuitively! Thank you.
  • Reliability issues

    By Old Garmin user
Used to be fine, but has crashed twice recently, completely losing the run data after about 7k. Lost confidence in the app. Other apps on my watch are working fine, so it is an app issue.

  • Changed my life!

One of the best apps I have. It keeps running simple, and me motivated.
  • Love it

New review from my previous. I have used this app for years and back end of last year I started using the subscription side to try it I have achieved a 3peaks challenge, a 10k and a half marathon this year using the training schedules so I think this is a great feature. However I have a Fitbit which is meant to be compatible but I just can’t get to work together PLEASE MAKE THIS A SIMPLE FEATURE!!! Plus the subscription may be high and is why it took me so long to decide to subscribe. Share features are great friends can see runs etc but the live feature has never worked!! As a runner think the app is great as a gadget guy think it needs simplifying and more comparability with gadgets.
  • Very good

I only use the free version but I love the mapping and timing functions of this app. I find it really encouraging and motivating.

Excellent App for keeping a record of my walks, when, where, how long & how fast. I have used Runkeeper since 2010, 7 years. Obviously I am not a normal athlete, at 76 years of age, fitness is a question of staying alive. Runkeeper helps.
  • Functional but flawed by corporate overpricing

    By Norm2306
I have used runkeeper for a number of years now and to be quite frank have become disgruntled at the constant overpricing of its premium features. As I said, the app itself is good, no complaints about its functionality at all. However, as the app has become more entwined with its brand partner, it seems the ethos has become to make money out of a rising interest in running rather than the runners themselves (which is what the app originally did). I have accessed the premium features previously but now they have become overpriced and there are alternatives that provide the same functionality for a fraction of the cost. Sorry runkeeper I ran off to the competition.
