Lose It! – Calorie Counter Reviews

  • Love it

    By Ktjh1992
I struggle to keep my motivation up so I decided to buy the premium package thinking because I’ve paid for it I’ll use it.. now I think I’m slightly addicted to it 🙈, tracking is easy with loads of options and simple to add the food if it’s not already on there, the daily reminders give me an extra push and seeing my weight go down on that graph is the best feeling! Having more than one goal is brilliant because your mind isn’t just set on one thing would recommend to anyone!
  • Great app, much more flexible than that other well known weight loss program

    By BleachLBear
I’ve been using this for about a month or so. At first I was using it in conjunction with a well known program because I wanted an easier to see the actual calories and nutrients I was consuming, something not provided by the other app. When the other app recently switched their program to Flex, I found it very restrictive so have stopped using it, and I now just use Lose It. I use it with my Apple Watch which is a great way of tracking the amount of active energy in earning, but the calorie bonus is handled in a very sensible way, so I can only earn a bonus if I’ve done exercise plus been a certain amount of generally active during the day. My only gripe is that some people are less accurate at entering nutritional details than others, and if there was an easy way to override the scanned barcodes with alternative values this would be great. To be clear, this functionality does exist in a lot of cases, but in some cases like creating recipes it doesn’t seem to be available. This is a small concern though, generally very good and I’ll continue to use as a premium subscriber
  • Much better than Weight Watchers

    By PinkWahoo
Having used, and paid heavily for, the Weight Watchers app I’m delighted to say that I’ve found Lost It much easier to use and more thorough. Most items I’ve scanned are readily available and I prefer simple calorie counting to points which left me feeling over-hungry.
  • It great

I like this app it mint
  • Very handy and easy!

    By Rennikz
You never truly realise what your eating until you track it, and Loose It made it really easy for me. I lost 1 1/2 stone in 6 weeks thanks to this app and I will likely keep using it. The ability to scan barcodes on food and plan meals in advance is great too. Although I didn't make much use of it myself, I showed the apps specific nutrient tracking features to a bodybuilding friend of mine and he immediately started has using it too, so he must have found it handy. Finally there are a lot of good recipe ideas, meal planning and exorcise tracking built in right into the app. I used a few of the recipes myself and they where great for breaking the normal routines I had gotten into. The only thing I would note is if your scanning barcodes rather then manually recording nutritional info, is quickly double check the info it gives you. As the record of barcodes they have are partially user maintained some info may be old or simply incorrect.
  • Great app

    By phild_onion
I have been using the app for about a month and found planning my goals and tracking calories easy. My one piece of feedback is that some of the user supplied data re: calories has some inaccuracies. The app allows you to create a new item, which in some instances has lead to a proliferation of very similar items. A feature for the community to manage and collectively correct existing items would improve the app in my opinion. Still, awesome app.
  • Great guidance

    By Aliceboothx
This is brilliant for calorie counting and keeping track of what you eat would highly recommend! I already feel better and it's only been 5 days! I've tried many things but this is the one app I can trust for guidance :)
  • Brilliant!

    By Advert hater
Easy to use, intuitive, time-saving - and it's working so far! Keeps me interested and motivated...
  • Great App

    By Gbr2l
Great app, easy to use and if you set the goals right and follow the calorie recommendations it works! I’ve lost 13kg so far. Weight loss is slower that they predict, but I guess I slightly under estimate what I’m eating each day! But it works!
  • Motivational

    By NK Soul
Still 5 stars Great app. Motivational, helpful, clear. I haven't even gone premium yet. I intend to though. I've lost 5kg in 3 weeks (together with working out of course)
  • It works

    By Slver121
Pretty good as far as these apps go, it's got a big database of foods and you can log everything you'd want to. Two downsides for me - everything defaults to imperial measurements which I can't work with, and it doesn't sync to the iPhone health app.
  • Changed running duration??

    By Jimmy dougle
Great app. They’ve just changed the running time on exercise to 5 minute intervals on this version, please change it back.
  • Slow & steady weightloss 😁

    By Golbytron
Great app. Links up with the health app already on your iphone and factors in how many steps you take, you can 'earn' extra calories by walking more, adding workouts (it has an option for wii fit workouts too! 😁) The recipe creator is really helpful because you can know how many calories are in your homemade dish, rather than guessing!
  • Lose It! ... definitely a big help

    By spawny_kev
Great app that is helping me to shift the weight, eat more healthily and do some exercise.
  • Best weight loss aid I’ve used

    By Gareth1974
I don’t normally pay for apps but I like this one! Calorie & exercise tracking is brilliant. Love the bar code scanner & the data base of foods. I’ve not got into the recipe or groups side of it but it looks to me that there is far more than I’d ever use.
  • Use friendly

    By The Mighty Wycombe
Easy to use, nice range of features.
  • 2 1/2 stone in 5 months

    By RIW28
Downloaded this app as my son had some success using it. Linked it with Strava and apple health and log everything (I like doing it) managed to lose weight almost every week and I like that you can set your goal and how quick you want to lose the weight. Would highly recommend it :)
  • A good helper

    By Apparition123
I have never dieted or calorie counted before, but having noticed at 43 yrs that I’ve put on a few kg I thought I should get it under control. I’ve always eaten whatever I liked and stayed the same weight (slim) so I never bothered before. Using this app has been fun and interesting because I’ve looked at what I eat each day and it made me see which unnecessary snacks and extra portions I could easily cut out to save hundreds of calories. Having a daily target made it simple to decide whether it’s worth having that slice of cake or not! Also you quickly learn which foods are simply not worth the calories. I didn’t think I’d bother with it for more than a few days , but now 2 weeks later it’s quite addictive, and I’ve lost nearly 3 kg already, and that’s without even increasing my (almost zero) amount of exercise. The app is so easy to use. The only annoying thing is, having the free version, you keep getting ads or prompted to sign up and pay. But the free version is still very functional - I don’t feel I need the premium one.
  • Great support

    By redhead.65
Like this app, easy to use and log information.
  • Great tracker 👍🏽

    By Jemd
I’ve tried loads of these and so far, this is my favourite. Nice bright clean interface, no clutter, no pointless articles that you’re never going to read, seriously probably the best food database for the UK that I’ve seen. You do get nag screens to go premium but they are not so intrusive that you can’t use the app.
