  • Useless

Using the ap to track my weight gain and for recipe suggestions. I don’t want to gain a lot, about a stone/ stone and a half. I currently weigh 7st 8lbs so my goal is 8st 8lbs. Every time I enter these it asks me if I’m sure I’ve entered the right number and won’t let me set my goal... Infuriating!!
  • Interactive, need improvement

Lifesum have a very interactive interface. Just turn my account into the premium one. but there is a lag when I go to the recipes and tap the breakfast/dinner the app automatically closed.
  • Love it

I really enjoy this app. Not only is it a calorie tracker but with premium it will also help you to stick to a certain diet and count your steps for you which then automatically get subtracted from the calorie count. It has a drink reminder as well. What I think is especially useful is the smiley-rating of food. It sums up and eventually leads to a day rating. It will make you think twice if you really want to eat that chocolate bar ;)

I would like to be able to change the photos on my previous meals that I have created on my own. Once I take my first photo there is no turning back - there is no retake photo button!?? Another good idea would be to be able to chose a photo from my library - where photos have a greater chance to look great. Thank you in advance and I do apologise for my abrupt way to start this conversation.

I think it’s a really good app , but whenever I try to log what I’ve eaten it keeps crashing
  • It's great but...

Every time I open the app it just crashes, other then that I like it.
  • More useful Apple Watch app

The Apple Watch app is kinda useless. Maybe add the option to quickly add meals.
  • Overall Happy - Ask for specific diet?

I'm vegan, does anyone know if you can edit suggestions so it only suggests vegan recipes? Other than that I really love this app! It has easy interface and syncs well with other apps. I'll give it 5 stars if someone can answer my question. 😀
  • Great app for calorie counting

Really enjoy the layout and it’s a breeze to add food. Only loses a star because there is no way that I can see to easily approximate a meal that you might have at a restaurant of a certain type. I live in London and regularly eat out, it would be good to have options like “Spanish Tapas - Meat / Vegetarian” with S/M/L options, to approximate that sort of meal. As it is when I eat out I often don’t bother entering the food in as it’s too hard. Otherwise great app!
  • Not suitable for UK or people who cook their own food

The dealbreaker for UK users, which you only discover once you’ve paid a hefty subscription is that it only works in kJ not kCal. The dealbreaker for people who don’t eat everything out of barcoded plastic boxes is that you have to submit a detailed nutritional analysis of every ingredient if every dish before you can use it.
  • Amazing app

I love this app. It’s perfect and easy to track the calories unfortunately it crashes quite a lot on my phone and I had to delete it ☹️

so i downloaded this like 30 mins ago or something and this app is amazing! whatever i was eating, it tracked it. i even scanned a barcode for portuguese cheese and it got that within 30 seconds and also i ate portuguese toast and i searched up the product and it managed to find it! i would totally recommend this app to people who need to keep track of what they are eating for e.g people need to put on weight or lose weight for their own health. so far i absolutely love this app within the first 30 mins of using it; it is amazing!
  • Great but not perfect

I’ve been comparing food tracking apps for a short while now and Lifesum definitely has the nicest interface. I appreciate the integration with HealthKit too, though I think a few other apps do that. I have a few things that could be implemented that I think would make lifesum even better. Features that I would love Lifesum to have: - The recommended target calorie ranges for each meal to be scaled to match your target. At present these remain set at the range for “maintain” eating, so if you plan your meals by these targets then you will overshoot your overall calorie goal. - Auto detection of fruit and veg from your added foods. I’ve seen this feature in other calorie counting dietary apps and it’s handy to not have too many button presses. - similarly it would be nice if food can be added first and then assigned to a meal secondly. At present there’s quite a few button presses to get your food added. - I would LOVE it if meals were suggested for dinner that helped you meet your carb/protein/fat target without overshooting. Sometimes it’s quite difficult to pick the right combinations at the end of the day. That’s all for now!

Loving it so far. Can you attach a Fitbit instead of health app for steps?

Great app... I love it , but it is frustrating as it crashes often
  • Nice interface but still some features are missing

In general this is great app with simple and pleasing interface. Integration with Health app is great however there are some features missing like habits tracking smoking/alcohol, vitamins tracking and reminder this way it would be more complete. I haven’t found a premium subscription useful and I don’t see much difference between free and paid version diets option is quite limited too. Also there is one annoying bug, you can’t update reminders time, it simply doesn’t save and resets to default which is quite annoying.
  • Great but ...

The Premium is a little too expensive other than that it's great.
  • Don't use if you have an Apple Watch

    By ConsortMcL
As an update to this, all these months on that they’ve still not solved this problem. The app thinks I’m burning way more calories than I actually am, as it imports from Apple Health the calories I’ve burned, PLUS the calories my Apple Watch thinks I’ve burned, which is already part of the value provided by Apple Health. I can’t be the only one experiencing this? ———— The app double counts the calories you burn as measured by the Apple Watch. The previous version double counted your exercise (adding both exercise and active calories together). This version is even worse - adding exercise, active and walking calories together. If you want an accurate record of calories burned, as recorded in the Health app, you need to go into Lifesum and manually delete the double-counted entries.
  • Improvements still neeeded

Overall quite a good app however I am unable to amend my goal weight from what I originally put in and the scroll menu won’t disappear. Also would be better if there were more nutrient options available like salt content
