The low FODMAP diet app has been developed in partnership with medical experts and dietitians from Kings College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The app enables you to search for suitable packaged UK foods when following the low FODMAP diet. Dietary triggers are difficult to identify but research has shown that some carbohydrates (FODMAPs) may contribute to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Restricting FODMAP intake has been shown to improve these symptoms caused by ibs food intolerance but this may not apply to everyone. The low FODMAP diet has been shown to be effective in managing IBS symptoms in up to 70% of people. Using the app you will be able to manage all three stages of the low fodmap ibs diet to create a FODMAP plan, search and scan barcodes to find FODMAP friendly foods. Improve your chances of successfully following the low FODMAP diet and then re-introducing foods to understand the ingredients that are triggering your symptoms. Key features: • Scan barcodes to check FODMAP friendly foods • Search quickly and easily for everyday FODAMP diet foods • Share your re-introduction charts with your clinician/dietitian • Quick FODMAP food check and guidance on portion sizes • Regularly updated tips & tricks from the dietitian • Create your own personalised FODMAP profile • At each stage track and record your symptoms • Full product ingredient and nutrition facts from food label • Create your own personalised shopping lists The app should be used in consultation with a healthcare professional. Download FODMAP by FM, create an account and evaluate it over a FREE 14-day trial period. If you want to continue using the low FODMAP app then then subscribe to a £3.99 annual fee. Please note: • Due to the highly personalised nature of using this app you are required to create a user account in order to use the search filters, try a food challenge or custom filters during the trial period. • Cancellation of the current subscription is not allowed during any active subscription period.  • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. • Terms apply see For more information on our privacy policy please go to WARNING: This application and the information that it contains do NOT constitute medical advice and should NOT serve as the basis for any medical decision by you or anyone else. • no food chart

    By J. Friedl
was hoping for a clear food chart but it's completely brand based. very limited and not useful, ended up downloading a chart from the internet instead.
  • Not for me

    By Gladquilt
Found it difficult to use. I would have appreciated more help with food replacements and recipes, hints and tips.
  • Phone updated now lost all data AGAIN and can’t get past profile page

  • Not accepting password

    By CorrieC90
Can’t use the app as it won’t accept my password after I changed it via the forgot my password link
  • Useless app

    By ldn user
Unable to get past second registration screen. No response from kcl or FoodMaestro.
  • SB

There is no customer relations at all! I have been trying to contact with the company for last 2 months, I send several emails but not a single answer! So annoying.
  • Poor app

    By Blue Sky Law
This app promises a lot but delivers very little - it only has a small number of products on its data base which leads to frustration when shopping as most foods are not recognised. Within the categories there are just a small number of branded products - for example milk substitutes have only one. Rand which makes it seem as though they are sponsored by food companies
  • Database excellent, but not user friendly

    By FranFaceS
Fantastic for the restriction stage, but reintroduction is tricky, and the app isn't that intuitive from that point forward. Still worth using.
  • All I want to do is look up products

    By MasqueArts
A horrendous registration process and even when registered you can't do anything without giving a life history- I just want to look up a product's high/low rating using the barcode. How do I get my money back?
  • Useful

    By Susiq0
This app is very useful particularly when starting a fodmap diet and choosing fodmap friendly foods. I used the barcode scanner when shopping which was a great help. Unfortunately many foods don't scan - so it's back to looking at the listed ingredients. Helpful also in reintroduction phase- which is very tricky! With a more comprehensive barcode scan list I would give this 5 stars.
  • So far so good

    By GelD94
I've only had the app a few days after having been told by my doctor to follow a low fodmap diet. It is nice to be able to type something in and see if it is suitable and also find alternatives. I'm feeling much better about finding my way with IBS now. The only thing I would like is a food diary and symptom log alongside so I don't have to use a separate app.
  • This is far from being a good app.

    By I_M_London
I found this app useful when I was on a strict low Fodmap diet, as it made shopping much easier and faster due to its bar-code scanning. However, it is a poor app to get to know the Low-Fodmap diet. It simply lacks the rigor and clarity of the Monash University app. Another important way in which it fails is that it doesn't allow to filter the user's preferences, if somebody is ok with GOS, but is intolerant to Fructose, for instance. Or, simply, if somebody is a bit more sensitive to some type of fermentable sugar. I suffered of a bad reactionwith some product that had a nice green light next to it. But the worst feature is that besides crashing regularly, now I have just found out that it has sent me an invoice that I didn't request for a renewal for another year because their subscription system has changed. This is simply not OK, and FoodMaestro need to do more than just sending an informative email a month ago. Especially with people to whom they had already offered a free subscription for another year due to the technical problems suffered. This is certainly not the best app for those on a Low-Fodmap diet.
  • Not all items scan

    By Pranaykavathekar
It's a idea of a app. But for what you pay the app doesn't do justice. It doesn't scan all the items you require and gives error. I think the app needs to update its database of food items from all shopping centres. Also they should put more recipes.
  • Passwords can't be strong

    By RedBaronEGTO
Bought the app. To use it you have to register. Firstly, the registration page says you don't need to register if you want to login using your social media account - but there is no option to login using your social media account! Then when you register, can't login. Have reset password twice - still no luck. Finally reset my password to one that only uses letters - bingo! If you're going to charge £4 for an app, don't use rookie developers!
  • Very Disappointing

    By Username taken, choose again.
I concur with a previous review that not being able to type in a particular foodstuff really limits the usability of the app. You have to identify the correct list and go int that list (it's more annoying than it sounds!) The database of items you can scan is really quite limited. I certainly expected a lot more for £3.99 Not great and as a result I don't really use it. You're much better off typing foodstuff 'x/y/z FODMAP' into google!
  • Great at what it does - could do more

    By Mike - office fan
Excellent and quick for checking goods with a bar code. Shows up unexpected products containing apple. Not so good with direct entry. Wanted to know if mangos are okay. Couldn't find them in fruit. Guinness wasn't found either. Doesn't have a food diary and only gives symptom logs at large time intervals. I'll try the reintroduction feature when the time comes to see if that adds anything.
  • Stopped working 😔

    By Alia74
This was a really useful app as it helped when shopping - being new to fodmap I was using the booklets given to me but the app was better when shopping as some of the allowed foods turned out not to be allowed when scanning them as they had hidden ingredients - few issues as mentioned with it crashing, but that was ok until now - it has stopped working altogether and says no internet connection ( there is) I'm logged out and can no longer use the app. Very disappointed - would've given it 5 stars but has to be 1 now as not working
  • "No internet connection"

    By BootyliciousBookworm
Kicking me out and telling me I have no internet connection. Great app and features, but not happy about paying for an app & not have it work.
  • Very Disappointed

    By Wheatville
I am now on week 7 of my FODMAP diet & I've had nothing but problems with this app. Now it won't let me use it saying I have no internet connection, when I've got perfect connection for every other app I have in my phone. It's a waste of time contacting them about issues as they take ages to reply & even then they are no help. What a waste of time & money. Wish I'd never got it. K
  • Worked well but has crashed

    By SSF77
The app has stopped working and it keeps telling me I need an internet connection although I have tried on wifi and 4g. Prior to this I found it very helpful and it gave me lots of useful information when out shopping. Would have given it more stars if it was working. Haven't been able to use it for two days.
