I just borrowed my sisters keyboard and omg in 10-15 minuets I’ve gotten so much better I’m a sporty person but I’m learning and this is great!!!!!!
  • Good App but it keeps crashing

    By Fletch415
I agree with other reviewers, this is a great app, but it keeps crashing on my iPad Air2, even if only running in the background. Very frustrating. A plea to the developer to fix this please...
  • Great but broken

Started using the app a few months ago and I really like it, great for a complete beginner. The progression and pacing is really good and with 30 min daily practice I have found myself improving. Since the Christmas update the app consistently crashes after using for a couple of minutes rendering it useless, and as I have paid for the 6 month subscription I’m afraid my money is going to waste until this is fixed. It’s a real shame as I was really enjoying the app. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? And will this problem be solved anytime soon?
  • SimplyPiano is simply the best

I decided to get a piano to assist me with improvising on my saxophone, I am studying Jazz. I saw the App and thought it would give me a few basics to help me shape the chords. But wow, I have got addicted and have 3-4 sessions a day of anything up to an hour. The lessons are fun and you feel each time you go back on you are progressing. I have just started lead sheet 1 after only two weeks. My prior music knowledge has only benefited me in recognising the treble clef notes easily. However I am now reading and recognising base clef. This app can be used in different ways, but I am keen to push forward and get through the courses as quickly as possible. I start with a 5 min work out to warm up. Then do a section of a course, then go back over songs from older courses. I have printed out three of the sheet music songs and also play those a couple of times through each session. I am a pretty dedicated musician, but my partner has also decided to learn. She has her own subscription so is going at her own pace. She has also completed three of the courses after only a week. I love that we had a Christmas special free within the app. The arrangements are all designed to make you work on different areas you need to master at each level. I think Joy of music could definitely expand on this app by having in app purchases of arrangements of different groups. So that once a student has finished all courses they don't lose momentum But if you have not gathered..... I am a big fan!
  • Good app, could be great.

I paid for a full years sub £80., me any my 2 kids are learning to play so worth it for us. Sound recognition was spot on at the beginning but with multiple key presses the app can't cope.So I bought an iPad to midi cable £5 and now it works fine again. Only thing to be aware ,can't import downloaded midi files which means songs my kids like are not available (Lego theme,Ninjago,my little pony theme) which is possible and free to do in other similar apps. Supplied songs are good but limited.
  • I enjoyed the app for 5 mins BUT…

    By Suziclews
I was a little bit Disappointed as the app thinks you can be a magician by only learning a few notes they play a very quick song with loads of notes on the 2nd part of the beginners!
  • Not good

    By Loots206
It’s ok but once you get like a inch form the start you have to pay for premium terrible
  • Disappointed

    By 😊😀😄😃
I started to play using this app and was exceeding very well, I had previously looked at the other levels which seemed to be unlocked until I finished the first session then it wanted to charge me you could improve this app by making it exclusive!!!! 🙁
  • Meh

I love the app but I am really upset that you have to pay to be able to unlock other songs. It is a good quality app but please make it so you don't need premium. 😕😔

Excellent introduction for beginner. I am enjoying the course. It is the right level and speed for me. It would help if there was a simple indication of why practice mode is introduced. Sometimes I wonder if my computer has heard correctly. Suggest for eg. N for notes; T for timing; Nothing to add, I Am enjoying the course. I find that sometimes I don't know what I have done incorrectly. As I said above I need a simple means of knowing what is incorrect.
  • Extremely Poor advertising

    By Jvb2367
When i watched an ad for this app on youtube it said that you could access hundreds of songs for free. After downloading the app and completing the SHORT tutorial i found that you had to pay £84.99 per year to use anything else, this is before i had “unlocked” more than 1 song... ode to joy. In addition, when you are about a quarter of the way through the tutorial, prior to any notification that any part of the app is paid for, you are promptly asked to rate the app DURING the song that you are playing. This is extremely intrusive and ruins the fun, i’m guessing this was an attempt to get the user to rate the app before they found out that, in order to play any songs you had to pay. Poor poor poir advertising, you really need to sort it out and stop misleading your customers

this app is heping me learn piano FOR FREE!!!
  • Not good

    By piano player 123456789
As an experienced pianist I was annoyed the app is titled Free to play along with your favourite songs and read sheet music I am on grade 7 piano and for my age that is pretty good I am very disappointed I thought it would help you learn new songs and you could just skip the basics like the notes but I had to go the whole thing I thought it could be worth it once I got to the end it came up about the premium package but I thought this was optional to get since it says free so I thought now that I completed it I could go onto songs it came up finish trial I finished the trial so I read the thing again then I thought what about the sheet music nope ode to joy was it I am very disappointed (IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADRESS IT AS FREE TO GET FREE SONGS AND SHEET MUSIC THEN OBIDE BY THAT) besides I didn’t like how u couldn’t skip some songs at the start. Very bad.
  • Good if

    By Dash game addict
It was good until you had to pay☹️
  • Terrible pay to play app

    By GrayHamPro
The only way to get better things in this app is by buying premium and even then you are limited with things to do. Do not recommend this app!!
  • Misleading payment charge details

    By jpbville
Very very annoyed advertised at £6.99 per month, aghast to be charged £83.99. This is completely misleading and underhand. I like the app but feel I have been taken for an idiot. I want my money back.
  • No Lifetime Subscription Available

    By SnowyToedSloth
It is a really good app but it would be even better if the option to purchase a lifetime subscription was available.
  • Good but

    By Annie Beattie
Is good but you have to pay could you make some more stuff free please
  • Good but needs some small tweaks

    By mrhectic2008
I love the app and the user interface. It just struggles to hear the keys I’m pressing and thinks I’m out of time when I’m not. I’ve taken the case off as recommended but still the same problem. Hope you guys can fix the latency in the microphone. Otherwise a great resource for learning piano.
  • Really great

    By Jidaco
Only just got going but the way the app interacts with what you play is simply superb in helping a complete newbie like me learn
